At its broadest level “art glass” can most easily be defined in opposition to glass for utilitarian purposes where the usability is more important than artistic design. On a more intimate level, it could simply be described as beautiful.

This brand new fence was wet and glistening from a ray of hazy sunshine beaming through an opening in the clouds. To me, the image is reminiscent of a group of young and hopeful sentinels, passively standing proud against whatever the forces of Man or Mother Nature might compel them to confront: oblivious that they might withstand nothing more than a moderate advance from either.
