This historic coastal artillery site used to be above the beach in WWII. The rising sea has overcome the site. It’s often below water and sometimes not even visible at low tide, buried beneath the sand. In fact, there’s two artillery rings near each other, but today, the other one was below the sand and cobblestones. Creating pottery by forming clay into a vessel before fire-heating to high temperatures in a kiln, which will remove all water from the clay as well as increasing its strength in addition to hardening and setting its shape.
2,000 degrees in this little furnace, which is helping these glassblowing artists produce their work.
